My partner and I have always dreamed of living in spain. My father lives there alone. And our set up would be nice. In two years we hope to retire and live there permanently however...
My partner lost his father last year, his mother has fallen out with his sister and her three children, since their fathers death.
My partner feels he is now cannot move to spain which is where we want to enjoy our life.

I am selfishly really angry, he is trying to so right by his mum, and I'm like life is precious we need to make the most of it.

What do we do? I want to start planting the seed that we don't want o live here, he's scared of telling her.

She bought a dog recently and had asked of well look after him in the e ent of her death....

For background she has a nice set up, nice house, no mortgage, lots of friends.

I would be angry in your situation too. Its a tough one to advise on really but its not really your husband's responsibility to sort out the issue between his mum and sister. Why is he scared of telling her your plans? How well do you get on with his mum? If its a good relationship, could she perhaps give her blessing to him moving to Spain? Its not a million miles away. If the above doesn't work, you need to really insist how important moving to Spain is to the future of your relationship as staying here without any plan is not something you can consider.

Doesn’t she know you always planned to live in Spain?

Its funny you say angry because that's what I am :-)
The onus is now on my partner with no other siblings in the picture.

It's an odd relationship with many dimensions that I don't have in my relationship with my family (my mum would be do what makes you happy).

She(his mum) knows that we have always spoken fondly about spain, and how much we want to live there.

Bottom line is I think its his job to spell it outright, but hes scared to tell her the truth and he feels guilty.
