Bewildered by Paris metro passes - bring back the carnet of 10?!

It’s been forever since I was in Paris and I was hoping to be able to buy a simple pack of ten metro passes.

But I think they’ve disappeared now, to be replaced by a bewildering range of options, you can have a week pass but the week must be Mon-Sun, you need to pay €5 for a pass, you need a passport photo… help!

I don’t think the Paris Visite card will represent much value for what we want to do.

Is the simplest answer to just pay as we go?

Just get Navigo Easy, you can buy single tickets or carnets.

Is that different to a T+ carnet do you know?

The old carnets are being phased out. You need to buy a Navigo Easy and then you can load a carnet on it - or singles if you prefer. The 21st century has finally arrived in Paris.

The lovely lady at the metro gave me a carnet of ten cardboard passes - long may they reign, I have to say!

The machine at the Gare du Nord gave me the carnet of 10 paper tickets 3 weeks ago and we were able to use them everywhere. I keep reading that they are being phased out but don’t know the time frame

They were supposed to be phased out a few years ago but it seems to be dragging on and on. Some of the machines at Gare Du Nord also sell the Navigo Easy so that's the most straightforward way to 'futureproof' any carnets you want to buy.

I was in Paris a couple of weeks ago and we used a 10 ticket carnet which I bought on the Eurostar.

It's such a walkable city so we walked loads and I also bought a 2 day Batobus ticket online before I went which is a river ferry that stops off at 9 stops of the main sites. I just scanned it via my phone
