I'm currently on ozempic but there is a national shortage. I'm going to Spain in 2 weeks.

Does anyone know if I could buy it in a Spanish pharmacy ? It's prescription only in the UK but you can buy it privately with a private prescription. How would I go about that in Spain ? 🙏🙏

Apparently there are also shortages in Spain

In Spain you also need a prescription. There is currently a massive shortage and I know my local pharmacy is prioritising diabetics (the original intendees for this drug). If you go to a private Doctor to get the prescription you will be charged for that visit and also charged to write the prescription in some instances. At the pharmacy you will then pay €130 minimum (and up to €165) for 4 doses by the pharmacy as you will not be entitled to the Spanish State subsidised price.

Just to add, the likely cost of seeing a private Doctor will be between €65 and €80 for a 15 minute consultation. Plus as I mentioned they may also charge to issue the prescription.
