Hello, someone recently told me that you can only get live in help in Singapore. In previous Asian countries we’ve always had part time helpers.
is that possible in Singapore? We’re looking for someone to look after the house and help with the children after school.
thanks

You can pay cleaning companies on an ad-hoc basis but as far as I'm aware you cannot hire a part time helper in Singapore. The M.O.M introduced the rule to stop foreign workers being exploited by multiple employers.

Ah that’s really good to know. So it’s live in helper or nothing?

You can only employ locals to do part time cleaning or domestic work - this is relatively more expensive. Domestic helpers have to live in - it is illegal to employ a live out
