Hi all,

I'm just about to qualify as an rn and I'm just after all information and advice about moving to perth.
I will be taking on a district nurse position here as it best fits in with family life. I wondered what this role is like in perth?
Are jobs hard to come by?
Will only having district experience and not ward ed or much ccu experience hinder my chances?
I'm looking at moving within the next 3 years really with my partner and little ones. He's 40 though can he still go off my visa ? I had read that you can be declined entry on working visas due to age.

So many questions haha.

Would absolutely love to hear from guys about this. Thank you 😊

As long as you fit the age criteria it doesn’t matter how old your partner is, the visa is given to you and your family are included on it.

As far as district nursing is concerned I’m not sure as I did hospital nursing. In all honesty I would get a bit of acute experience anyway as I think it stands you in good stead? Maybe someone else will be along who has experience of community nursing over there.

Look into smaller towns as well as Perth as the cost of living will be cheaper and there may be more work - however does depend what facilities you like to have and what your DP does as country WA is a bit Wild West at times 🤣

Good luck, I absolutely loved it. Beautiful stunning place and lovely people. Make the most of it xx
