Dubai schools and living

I have 2 7 year olds and am considering moving to Dubai. My question is what is the best British school in Dubai for academics and sport.
My son is used to playing alot of sport so ideally looking for a school which is sports focused. Are there any single sex schools or is it all mixed?
What areas are the most family friendly and are close to the school. We have a fairly large budget for schools and house.

When are you planning to move? I recommend you start with whichschooladvisor and try to come up with a longlist, and then find out if they have space. Then you can ask for advice on specific schools. There are just too many school options in Dubai to ask generally.

There is no one best school, and none that are particularly known for sporting excellence at age 7. I don't think there are any truly academically selective primary schools either. The only really academically selective school in Dubai is Dubai College (secondary only). There will be a lot of sport at any decent school.

It's worth clarifying what you mean by fairly large budget - do you mean you have up to ~AED80k a year per child (which I think should cover any school for primary) or is your limit lower? On housing, in Dubai a fairly large budget for housing now would be AED300k-400k per annum. You can obviously get houses for much less (I don't have that budget and we live in a perfectly nice house!) but even 200k limits options a lot in the current market, so again you need to be clear.

Agree with PP on budgets. Rents have increased a lot recently and there’s less available. Arabian Ranches is a popular family area and there are some good schools close by: JESS, Kings Barsha, Nord Anglia, JAS.
