If your children were educated in France

What classic French books did they study in collège and lycée?

I'm thinking particularly literature and philosophy, but interested in anything that all children study as part of a standard French education.

I've been living in France for several years and speak French fluently but I feel like there are huge gaps in my cultural knowledge, particularly when talking with colleagues who were all educated in the French system and have mostly been to grandes écoles etc.

I'd quite like to fill those gaps just for personal integration, and to be in a better position to help my own children once they get to that stage!

Thanks.
