San Ramon CA and Surrounding Areas

We are currently back in the uk after a few years in Houston but there is now talk of a possible job in California. Has anyone had experience of San Ramon, Pleasanton or Dublin? Or suggestions of areas commutable to San Ramon. We would be moving with primary aged children so family friendly and any experiences of schools either private or public would be appreciated thanks :) I've had a search for previous posts but can't see anything recent.

All three cities are very desirable with good public schools. I live in the Bay Area and those cities are always top in lists of good places to live in the east bay. Walnut Creek and Danville are also highly rated. The downside I have heard of is less diversity (higher white population) in those areas.
