Moving to Spain - pros and cons? And nice communities to move to?

Already EU nationals so Brexity things don't apply. This has come up in our recent discussions for retirement/pre-retirement due to value for money for property and nice weather (too hot though?) I love Spain, speak basic spanish and have visited lots of areas on holiday but don't know much about the practicalities. I know I don't want a finca in the deepest countryside - I want to live where there are people, shops, and amenities. Somewhere near the sea. Any thoughts?

Can you a trip to explore some different areas?

We already had family here when we were planning our move, so didn't have to look to far as knew the area we wanted to be.

Paperwork is a nightmare but the lifestyle is worth it

I live near Barcelona it's expensive . Other areas of Spain are not however it's well connected for travel, has mountains and sea , has seasons

It's worth visiting lots of different places. I also love Valencia much cheaper and similar , Zaragoza, seville , San Sebastian. All nice and relaxed

Spain is a wonderful place to bring up children

The healthcare and welfare systems are also amazing

I don't want to derail this thread but let's be clear to the non-locals that by 'they' we are talking about the Spanish.

Near Barcelona is very expensive to live. Think London prices. Southern Spain is much much cheaper
