Cheapest money transfer

DH is working in Saudi Arabia and is paid in riyals into a Saudi bank. At the moment we are paying a significant amount each month to move it back to UK, which builds up over the year. Any advice or ideas on the most efficient (best exchange rate) way of getting the money to our UK account?

I transfer a lot to America and have found transferwise the best solution. I've been using it for years and has been very safe and reliable with better exchange rates than my bank or paypal.

Sorry they are wise now... they are still transferwise in my head!
