Ok so this may be mad but i am knid of inclinded to let her be there, with her i had an epidural and will probably have one again due to spinal and pelic injurys. so less pain, she is quiteblood proof as i am a nurse and she has both been into work with me and stopped at RTC"s. Dh is less keeen tha her to be there! he will i am sure quite happily take her out if need be, or she may have to take him out! anyone had children at the birth?

had both dd2 and 3 in Aus but they were c-sections. I know during antenatal classes - not addressed BUT i suspect if it is hospital public or private - they would not be open to the idea - probably all sorts of implications to do with insurance and procedure.

What if you have to have a c-section, what if something goes wrong - dh might be all for taking her out of there BUT then you are left with no support?? NOt to wish you ill but having been in the position that all plans went out the window and babe had to be born!! then I am so aware that it is a possibility.

YOu don't have family here do you??

Is it worth getting onto a nanny agency to have one assigned as a childminder etc to you so that she will have built up a relationship and so when the time comes - she can be there to help out with dd1 - take her to school etc or be there when she wakes up to see you have gone - then bring her in later??

Would she not get bored if you needed to be in for a longish time??

sorry for the long message.

Where are you having dc2?
