We are just starting to look at whether or not it would be possible for us to move to NZ.

My DH works in a senior IT role, he has about 15 years experience. However, his degree is in History. Does this mean he would be unable to qualify under the skilled migrant category?

Hi, as far as I know, it's a points system, so it depends on whether experience would outweigh qualification irrelevance - his qualification could still count towards points. Also, you need to be under 55. It also helps if you have a job offer prior to moving.

The best thing you could do is speak to a good consultant.

Check out NZ government immigration page. All the Visa's and 'rules' / eligibility are on there. A bit hard to directly answer your question as so much depends on the detail.
