Online grocery shopping/delivery in Italy

We are going to Italy for a week over Easter, staying in a villa and while we will eat out most of the time I know everything will be closed on Easter Sunday and most things on Easter Monday. We arrive on the Saturday so I was hoping to be able to get an online food shop delivered that afternoon to avoid rushing to the supermarket when we get there!
Can anyone who lives there let me know of any supermarkets that do deliveries?

Thank you!

It's not really a thing here tbh. Some big chains might do deliveries but I doubt you'd get one on a Saturday night. My local supermarket does deliveries but a wee van takes the stuff in the mornings. Not at weekends.
Easter Sunday morning and Easter Monday morning most supermarkets will be open. The only days they shut completely are May Day and Christmas Day (where I am)
Whereabouts are you going? I can have a look for you.

I have never known of it. I don’t live permanently there but have property in Campania so am there a lot. I think most of the large supermarkets will be open.

Depends where you are going, every large supermarket in my area (Milan) does delivery. We get deliveries from Esselunga up to 11pm at night, including Saturday and 10pm on a Sunday. Also AmazonFresh deliver in an hour, free if you have Prime. I know that the following supermarkets in this area (and maybe nationally) also do it and are usually open weekends and most bank holidays, but days like Christmas usually open just in the morning.

Esselunga www.esselungaacasa.it/
Bennet www.bennet.com/
Carrefour www.carrefour.it/
Gigante www.ilgigante.net/spesaonline/

Also try Everli that cover lots of supermarkets.

Thank so much for your replies! From what I found online yesterday it does seem to vary a lot regionally. We are going to Sorrento and whilst I found a supermarket there that does deliver, when I checked the address of where we are staying it says it's not covered.

Interesting that you've all said they should be open Easter Sunday though, that's really helpful (and a novelty for me again, I live in Germany and everything is shut here Sundays, let alone Easter Sunday ).

At least that way I can just go a couple of times if I need to rather than having to do a big shop on the Saturday (we'll be 6 adults and 3 kids altogether but the others don't arrive til late Saturday night).

@Deadivy I love Milan! It's one of our favourite places to visit...can't wait til we can get back there for a few days again!

I think everywhere in Sorrento will be open on Easter Sunday, touristy places won't close apart from lunchtime I reckon. Nearer the time they'll have their Easter opening hours. I'm in Puglia and not that touristy but ours are open mornings on bank hol weekends.

@Geamhradh thank you that's really helpful. I will check out the opening hours online nearer the time 👍🏼
