Hello! We are going to be relocating from Twickenham (London) to Ireland this summer with a (then) 6 year old girl and 2 year old boy. My husband is Irish and will be working in Dublin; I am English and will be working from home PT.

His sister lives in Maynooth so we'd ideally like to be within half an hour or so of there but happy to consider other areas if they make sense. I'm a country girl at heart and would love the kids to go to a smaller/village primary school if possible but still have access to extra-curricular clubs etc. within a drive.

Does anyone have any recommendation for nice areas/good schools/general advice relocating Eng - Ire?

Thanks in advance for any tips/recommendations!!

Hi @Em123456. I don't know the area you're moving to, but just wanted to say I was in the same situation as you 20 years ago, moving to Ireland with Irish husband and small children. We are still here, I settled in and am happy here.

Might I suggest you repost this in the Craicnet section, it's specific to Ireland and you'll get lots of good advice there. If you take a look through past posts you'll find a lot of good information about moving here from the UK.
