Hello....

I'm here....I have been offline due to a move. Where in Adelaide are you?

TALLUBAHHUMBUGBELL · 17/12/2007 00:52

Hi Sandcastles - I am in the city, near Belgium Beer Cafe. Where's you?

I'm south of the city, at Morphett Vale. About 45 mins away, I guess.

TALLUBAHHUMBUGBELL · 17/12/2007 07:16

Is that near the racecourse? What are you doing in Adelaide? I'm presuming you're not from here ?

Nope, that is Morphettville.

Morphett Vale is near Noarlunga.

I live here, been here since June 06.

How you finding it? I lived here in Adelaide for 3 years but got very homesick & was glad to get back to Scotland. DH is from here & desperate to move us all back for good. Is a bit of a dilemma.

I love it, but dh isn't so keen. We have just moved into a new rental, but after the year is up, he is keen to return to the UK. He is trying not to focus on the homesickness, but I know he finds it hard.

TALLUBAHHUMBUGBELL · 20/12/2007 00:06

Maybe once another year has passed he will have settled more. Takes a long while to feel at home.

I am enjoying being back for a holiday - is nice to have some sunshine & catch up with old friends but I miss my folks & hate the fact that DD is growing & changing so fast & they are missing out on it all.

You'd think, but this has come on for him in the last 6 months & he lived here from when he was 3 to 21 & all his fmaily are here, where as I have no family [only ILs] here.

So it really makes not much sense, even to him....BUT we [me, his mum & dad] think that he is missing his aunt [she has no children & treats him as her own, always has]. We'll see.

I know that dh felt that his parents were missing out on dd growing up, so I understand what you mean. But these last 6 months with dh have taught me that YOU have to do what makes YOU happy!

But these last 6 months with dh being so unhappy have taught me that YOU have to do what makes YOU happy!

I didn't want to return to the UK, but have made peace with the fact that I may have to now.

Just popping in to say hello Tallulah - you really dont want to be here - freezing fog and about 2 inches of frost on the ground brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

TALLUBAHHUMBUGBELL · 20/12/2007 23:43

Makes me feel a bit better Geordie, but is pouring here today - will probably clear up by lunchtime though. Have great Xmas & hopefully see all the North of the Border girls in the new year.
