Doha with a dog

There is a remote possibility that DH may be offered a job in Doha and I was wondering how suitable it was for pets. We have 2 cats and a dog. The dog is a pointer and needs a bit of exercise, ideally at least half an hour of leash. Is there anywhere to provide this in Doha? And is there good dog boarding/sitting services should we go on holiday? Out of interest, if people leave the country for a couple of months, so they take their dogs with them? I also don't imagine it would be safe to let a cat out with all the busy roads. Can anyone offer advice or share experiences?

We have a cat and live in a compound. The roads within the compound are relatively quiet and there's always children running around outside. Our cat was a street cat we rescued so we still let it out all the time and there's plenty of other cats out here too. I guess if you live in an apartment in the middle of a city then you might have more trouble though.

I'm not sure about dogs. People on our compound have them and just have to walk them super early or late in the middle of summer as the ground is too hot most of the day. There's a couple of parks where you can take dogs on leads and there's the 'dog beach' which you can go to and let them off lead. Some people run or cycle round our compound with dogs on leads but I don't believe there's many options for places without leads.
