...how did you find your job?

I taught in the Middle East for a couple of years a while back but I found my job via a friend who worked out there. I'm now back in the UK and looking to teach internationally again in the next few years. I'm on Search and browse TES but I'm wondering if there are any other avenues worth exploring?

I have always used TES but Teacher Horizons may also be worth signing up to.

Good luck with your search.

Well, there's Search Associates.
However, I just googled which possible schools there are in the area I was looking at and then checked their websites. I then emailed directly and asked about jobs.

Thank you both. I hadn't heard of Teacher Horizons so I've signed up with them

I have a Search Associates account but I'm not Active at the moment as I haven't yet told my current Head that I'm looking at other opportunities and I need a reference before they will activate my account again. By next week though...

I have taught in Thailand and South Korea... I am currently teaching in England but am keeping an eye out on TES for jobs abroad.
Any particular place you want to teach?

myheartskippedabeat · 04/11/2021 21:45

I went out about 14 years ago with careers.britishcouncil.org/go/Jobs-in-English/4302001/

The British council - they were amazing I'd recommend getting in touch with them x

I'd like to go back to the Middle East or Asia. I currently have Qatar, Japan and Malaysia on my list but realistically, I'm more concerned about finding the right opportunity with the right package for me and my daughter. What was SK like? I've toyed with that location too

I did like it, but much preferred Thailand. I loved how much there was to do in Thailand and it was more relaxed.
Have you thought about Singapore? I am thinking there

Yes I'm open to Singapore too, I've heard it's fab but yes cost of living is quite high. I haven't really researched it enough in that respect though

Try facebook groups for teachers in the locations you want to work in.

International Schools Community members also post vacancies at their schools.

Are you on LinkedIn? Some get shared there.
