I know it's controversial and I know lots of people sit all over the place on it but I am excited about this!

As a temporary worker in Canada (2 years here, 2 years left on visa plus application in for permanent residency, ie. we don't feel very temporary!!) we haven't been allowed to get exemptions for family but with todays announcement my parents are coming!

It's been over 2 years since my parents have seen my kids and I can't believe I can finally get excited about them actually being here.

Anyone else out there who can finally be reunited with family?

Errrr, you do know your parents could have come before this, right? My mom has come twice during COVID because she's immediate family to residents of Canada....

Only if you are a permanent resident or citizen, which I am not. People on work permits have not been able to get family members in.

We're in Canada too but we're more excited that the uk finally decided to allow us onto their green list just recently - DH was able to book last minute to attend a family event in London this week. Congratulations on getting to see your parents, OP.

If they had changed their minds about the 7th I was going to look at flights for me and the kids as I’m done with the waiting!! But this is the better option for us so I’m really pleased!
Glad your husband got back. Smile

I'm in Canada too... Just crossing fingers about the quarantine period for kids under 12 when we return from the UK...
