Germany Aldi British Specials!

Waaaah! It's that time when Aldi Süd are selling their Taste of British Isles specials!

I am far more excited about this than I should be and have stocked up on Dairy Milk, Chocolate Digestives and Salt and Vinegar crisps.

Tonight's tea is Fish and Chips (frozen, sort of fish nuggets) and curry baked beans.

Washed down with lashings of Brewdog ALD IPA

Is there anything that you get ridiculously excited about where you live?

I am impressed that they did not skip this given Brexit! Just out of interest are all the items actually sourced from Britain?

Actually I have just looked it up and it seems the closest product to Britain is some Irish beef. The beans are Italian , the fish is Alaskan and the beer is brewed in Berlin ! Even the wine gums are made in Germany

This reminds me that when we go to Denmark we normally stock up on proper Ribena as they still have the original recipe sweetener free stuff over there. Not sure we can do this in post Brexit world

True. But the Dairy Milk is proper stuff imported, so that's the most important bit!

@darefullyciverse Oh i so miss squash. Just can't get it here - the nearest I can do is to use Sodastream orange flavour in normal water.

Not sure if the Dairy Milk might not be made over there. I know Cadbury are bringing some production back here but there is a lot made in Germany and Poland (I guess it all tastes the same). Fascinated that they picked curry baked beans as a typical British food.

We've just stocked up with baked beans, cider, crisps and chocolate as well. Haven't been able to make our usual supply run to the UK after all.
I do like the fudge cake and was rather excited about the scones. Shame they didn't have any clotted cream to go with them.

Does anyone know if Aldi Nord are also doing this right now?

@Fuzzyspringroll Is the cider any good? I didn't get scones as I make amazing ones . The curry baked beans are weird but not bad!

Not in Aldi Nord at the mo I think and the products aren't the same, never found digestives or Cadbury's in Nord. Am on the border between the two so get the best of both worlds.
