Thoughts of English speaking schools in Brussels !!! BSB vs ISB vs BEPS

We are keen to find a school for our two boys age 8 and 11 in Brussels. They have been educated in a good school in London and we are struggling to know which school would support them the best ‘academically while having good facilities’. Also the schools are very expensive compared to UK independent schools so I am wondering if the gap in fees ,for the ISB for example. is worth it. We will move according to school location so this won’t be an issue !! Any information welcomed !! Thanks

Do they have any particular interests in relation to sport/ music/ drama etc? ISB and BSB both have good facilities but BSB has better sports facilities. I think BSB's fees include most extra-curricular activities except individual music lessons and tennis but at ISB extra-curricular activities are additional to fees I think.

Thanks for this @catmack16.. do you know anything about Bogaerts International School or BEPS? We are trying to see what would make the most sense. We are specially thinking academically and making sure they can adapt easily..

Any guidance would be welcomed!

I'm afraid I don't know much about BEPS though it has fairly recently expanded into some secondary provision. Bogaerts moved into Brussels from another location a few years ago and shares its site with EFI - a French system private school. Its provision would be further away from the English approach and more linked into the IB approach with the PYP and MYP. There is also BJAB in Brussels which is another small private school but primary only. The two ISF schools may also be worth considering, one is south of Brussels in Waterloo and one is east of Brussels in Tervuren. The Waterloo site offers primary and secondary and Tervuren primary only.

Is the move to Brussels long-term or short-term? If you need to move back into the English system, especially once you are into secondary, then a school linked to the English system may be the best option. BSB probably offers the most subject options at secondary level and into GCSEs then A-levels, IB or BTec.

Correction - BJAB also offers Y7 and 8 now.

Hi Iras, this probably comes too late - anyway I would like to share our excellent experience with BJAB.
It is a small school that takes care of all children in an individual manner. Academic standards are very high, and the variety of things that children learn is amazing. I can just warmly recommend it.
btw fees are much more reasonable than in ISB or BSB.
