HE / primary schools in NZ

Hi can anyone tell me whether it is possible to home educate in NZ. Where I am now, it isn't permitted. I'm wondering too whether you have to officially register somewhere as doing that and how the whole thing works.

Also, how do you know which primary school your dc are supposed to attend? Is there some way of finding out the catchment area of particular schools or do you just approach any that are near you? Thanks!

Hi annie, thanks that's a relief for a start! Do you know by any chance, can you just go ahead and do it or do you need to register somewhere, use particular materials?

THanks very much girls,
