Sydney meet up?

OK - this board can be fairly slow so I thought I would be pro-active.

Is anyone up for a Sydney meet sometime before Christmas? (I am thinking childfree and boozy BTW - everyone I meet here is so clean living I am aiming to lower the standard to that of the usual Brighton meet in the UK which normally starts at lunchtime and ends whenever ).

To facilitate that I am guessing we need to think somewhere central so people can get trains/buses home.

If anyone is interested to you want to give some thought to date/time/venue. I realise that people who have been here longer than me probably have more demands on their time! (Moqwai - it would be a disgrace if your year here is up before we actually get a chance to meet!!!!).

Have I scared everyone off? I saw Bloss on Sunday and she's up for it, anyone else?

hi there. no, haven't scared me off - i'm just on a trip to the UK, so not able to check in that often. it would be good to meet up with others in Sydney if we can arrange a date. i'm back mid-November, so will catch up again then (if the jetlag isn't too bad!)...

Haven't checked here for a while, sorry sunnydelight, I would love to have a meet up so count me in. We have hubby's parents over from UK at the mo so for me early dec works best - though I know it starts getting really hectic for everyone in the final weeks to Christmas and I'm sure I could sneak off and leave them to it for a while if everyone else wanted to meet earlier

Is the weekend of 8/9 December any good for people? I was thinking if we did it at lunchtime we would avoid being surrounded by office Christmas parties.

Sounds good to me!

hi there. how is everyone? well, am back and jetlag has gone (luckily it wasn't too bad). the 9th would be better for me, but could do the 8th too. lunchtime would be good, but i will have to bring my 5 month old with me, so boozy session will be out for me at least(haven't managed to get her to take a bottle yet). any plans for a venue yet? who's coming along? looking forward to getting together soon...

Shall we re-visit this in the new year? Only the three of us seem interested - haven't heard from Bloss recently, think it's getting too close to Christmas - maybe you can manage child free by then PPM!! Hope you had a good holiday BTW.

Sorry hadn't seen this thread

Yes, I think it would be a disgrace not to meet before I leave but would be better after xmas, or the week before, if that suits anyone

PeppaPigsMum · 27/11/2007 10:48

probably a good idea to leave it until after Christmas - i may be able to leave dd2 for more than 2 hours by then! hopefully a few more of us will be able to make it. can't believe how quickly Christmas has arrived...

sunnydelight - had a lovely holiday thanks. just readjusting to life away from family again.

mogwai · 27/11/2007 10:56
