I've tried obvious phrases like services de l'aide sociale, but only got a load of pdf policy documents, and child care stuff. I want them to take a look at ex-h, who is going downhill fast.

slim, I'm looking for something like an addiction clinic, but not sure how to proceed. Not even sure if that's the right treatment. He is just weird - sort of addicted to the idea of his own power, if that makes sense.
It can't be ignored any more. I can't really list all his symptoms here, but he is def not normal any more.

Could it be a manic episode?.........or cocaine?

no, I am sure it is not drugs or alcohol. It started with a male menopause sort of thing, and just went downhill.
He is violent and can't manage his anger. eg he smashed his phone the other day, because I said that our divorce was just a divorce - he was trying to tell me that it was a full scale war, we are enemies to the death etc.

In Germany, there is a heavy reliance on treating psychiatric patients by drugs, a colleague of mine campaigns against it. Do you know if it is the same in France?

He wouldn't take drugs, anyway, he won't even take a paracetamol.

Hang in there. Anger is soooooo hard to overcome. He might really need mood stabilizers but talking would be a good start.

thanks. Getting him to treatment will be difficult, as like addicts, he is convinced that there is nothing wrong with him, despite a lot of evidence to the contrary.
