Special schools overseas and covid

I'm interested to hear about what's happening in special schools overseas at the moment? In the UK we are told to stay as fully open as possible, my own school has almost all children attending on a rota basis so our classes are slightly smaller than usual. Are they open abroad? I know that different countries have different ways of supporting children with special needs, it's something I'm really curious about

Just saw on active threads so no idea of the answer, however whatever the answer is I think you also need to factor in any respite, therapy, support provided outside of schools in those countries as well. For a lot of people with Sen kids in the uk they get nothing outside of school so school is only source of respite which I think there has been more of a push to keep special schools open this time rather than it just being education

Thanks Morph, that's so true. I know that many of our parents are so relieved that we are still open this time. Some of our children do get direct payment hours for respite, but it isn't a lot and there appears to be nothing for them during the school holidays. I have tried to organise play-schemes in the past but I always struggle to get funding for them.
