Shanghai Water

I’m going to Shanghai and taking 2 children as well. We will be renting and I’m petrified of the terrible water. We’ve been told that we will have a water fountain provided.

I am going to take a couple of Brita filters with me and we’ll brush out teeth, cook and drink that water. I’m also taking a shower filter. I was going to wait until we got there to get the tap filters for the kitchen and bathroom.

I’m pretty sure however that these filters won’t remove all issues eg arsenic. I would love to have a reverse osmosis filter fitted, but I’m not sure that a landlord is necessarily going to want to do that.

So people with kids in Shanghai, what did you do???

I used bottled water for everything. It comes in a 20 litre bottle and you just order bottles via wechat and leave the empties outside your house/apartment.
