DH mentioned tonight the possibity of a move to Mexico city. Any thoughts/experience of Mexican life? Have moved around lots of countries within Europe (although not always members of EU at point of us living there) but this seems scary and very unfamiliar. Anyone already there?

I lived there for 7 years until a year ago and it was a great experience. It depends on what you expect. Mexico city isnt the most beautiful city in the world and very polluted but Mexico the country is gorgeous. It is huge and there are so many places to visit mountains, desert, tropical beach and pine forests. It is a beautiful and culturally/historically rich place. It is probably a good idea to learn some Spanish as not many people speak English except in the tourist areas and of course the educated upper middle classes.I was wworking in a British International school in Mexico city so got to meet many expats. I absolutely loved it and still miss it. If you want any information just ask and good luck.
