British School of Paris

Any recent opinions or views on this school? We are considering it for next year for our DS, 8, he will be going into Year 5 then. It looks great on the whole and ticks lots of boxes, but I have two main concerns:

  • distance from (Western) Paris where we live
  • the extent to which it's suitable for a non-British (albeit English-speaking) child - I guess what I'm asking is the extent to which the school is internationally-oriented and welcoming/supportive of children from different backgrounds.

Thank you to all for any feedback!

It's 8 years since my DS attended but at that time the school was approximately 40% British and 60% International. Everyone from every nationality was welcomed exactly the same and my DS (who is British) had close friends from Holland, Nigeria, South Korea, South Africa and Argentina.
All the nationalities were celebrated and encouraged to share their own cultures with each other, it was a wonderful experience for him and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone!

Have you tried asking on ‘English speaking mums/ moms living inParis’ FB page? There are 5k + members so certain quite a few use this school. live in the western suburbs but we are happy with the local school for our younger (MS) child. The group is a really friendly and happy to share experiences on a range of Paris with kids questions.
