Has anyone got any experience of current processing times of passport renewals for overseas citizens?

Im waiting on DDs child renewal which is about 6 weeks on from receipt of all the docs. Just wondering how patient I'm likely to have to be? It took two weeks from delivery of docs to confirmation of receipt to show on the system. Since then it's just 'processing'.......

Anybody in a similar situation? Yes, I know there's a global pandemic bla bla bla - but locally I've had ID docs turned around in three weeks.

My husband renewed his recently, we live in France - took about 3 weeks from sending the old one off to getting the new one. He is still waiting for his old one to be sent back - that's about 6 weeks wait now.

My mother was told 2 months processing time; and had 3 weeks delay from delivery of docs to confirmation of receipt. She might have sent hers at a similar time to you, not sure.

(She's dreading how long the return post to Australia will actually take; and then she needs to renew her Australian passport too.)

Looks like I'll need to be a bit more patient. Thankfully we have local passports too, not that we're traveling at the moment, but need something in case of emergencies.

I'm in a similar situation to you OP. Sent DDs passport at the beginning of August. Acknowledged as received after about 3 weeks but since then no further progress.

I applied and sent off my old passport during the first week of September and received the new old (and old one back) earlier this week.

Am in Australia.

Quick update, have finally heard from passport office today - not actually received new passport, but hey progress.

Delivered 28.8

Uploaded to passport office system and processing 7.9

Passport approved 30.10

About 10 weeks in all.

That is strange, I just got mine back 10 days from the date I applied online, sent my docs the same day.
