Safe villages and towns near Bristol and Cardiff

Hi all, we are immigrating to the UK in 2021 and are looking at various options. Any recommendations for safe and more affordable places to live near Bristol and Cardiff would be greatly appreciated! The idea is to work in the city but live in a nearby town or village as close to nature as possible. Thanks!!

Safety is not really an issue. Most places in the UK are safe.
I'd suggest you think about what else you want.

And affordable means different things to different people.

Budget? "More affordable" can mean anything.

Also, do you need to commute to Bristol and/or Cardiff for work, or to be close to see family, or for schools? Would you be travelling by car or public transport? How long a journey are you prepared to take on?

Oh, and rent or buy?
