Mortgages in Uk while in the US

We are currently living in the USA and have seen a house back in Scotland that would be perfect for us for when we go back in the next 1-2 years. Potentially sooner!!

Our initial contact with a mortgage advisor in Scotland has been unsuccessful so
Just wanted to find out if anyone has managed to secure a UK mortgage while living in the USA.
If so who was the lender and advisor you used?
Thanks 😀

You can via HSBC expat, we considered it but ultimately decided against it because the interest rates are way higher than from a typical lender and fortunately we had a family member offer a bridging loan instead.

Hsbc expat was our only choice when we had to remortgage our UK house

I bought in the UK while working in Japan and used a broker - Professional Mortgage Services - who were excellent. They've also recently organised a mortgage for an acquaintance who was contracting in Denmark so might be worth a try if HSBC doesn't work out.
