My partner and I are thinking of moving there, currently exploring job opportunities that have come our way. They're very good jobs and would be making good money so not too concerned about living costs. Just worried about everything else / any advice? Been doing lots of research but would love to hear from a fellow mumsnetter. No kids, just the two of us. How have you find living there? I know it gets boring, do you end up having loads of trips to Miami? What do you think of the social life etc? Thanks! Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!

We lived there for many years, moved back to UK several years ago but DH still goes for work trips.

It was a great place to be a couple and then a young family but it does get boring which is one of the reasons we moved. We went to Miami or Ft Lauderdale at least once or twice a year but getting to and from the island is expensive, I am assuming you are looking at Grand Cayman? Pre Covid it had a Brilliant social life there, loads of restaurants, brunch is a big thing, beach bars, tennis club, any water sport you can think of, various clubs and societies, modern cinema. Not much doing at all on the other two islands.

Salaries there are generally higher than in UK plus no income tax but cost of living is much, much higher than you might think. Utilities and groceries especially. Running AC all day is eye wateringly expensive. Plus you have to pay for health insurance.

Hopefully this will bump for someone who is there now who can tell you more
