Anyone been? Any tips? Did you stay nearby?

Thinking of going towards the end of this week before the schools start back, but hoping for better weather, we've got snow forecast for Tuesday.

Sorry can't help, never been but we're planning on going to the first indoor version of legoland in Berlin one day soon (when the schools have gone back so it's quieter!)
Have a nice trip.

SSSandy2 · 03/09/2007 08:36

Never been. Legoland in Denmark is great though. Not that it's much good to you knowing that.

Lot of rain here at the moment. Might not be that great for wandering about outdoors.

Let us know how you get on if you do go, won't you?

debinaustria · 03/09/2007 10:33

Thanks Sandy!

I keep looking at the weather and hoping that it will change - it's lovely here today but I can see the rain over Germany on the radar. Fingers crossed for the end of the week

I have got a free ticket from my annual pass for a legoland abroad if any of you want it.

belgo · 03/09/2007 10:44

I'm also watching this thread because we are huge lego fans

Where is it, Debinaustria? We went to Centerparc near Hamburg and it was fantastic. We owe a big debt of thanks to Emkana for her help with that

Budababe · 03/09/2007 10:57

Hi Debinaustria -

friends went last Easter and said it was great - their children loved it.

They just booked one of the hotel on the Lego website.

We are hoping to go over Oct half term.

Please don't tell me there is really snow forecast for next week???? Nooooooooo!

debinaustria · 03/09/2007 15:37

It's west of Munich, should be about 3 hours from us. We don't want to stay at one of the legoland hotels as they are for 1 night. We want to stay somewhere for longer.

Yes there is snow forecast on the mountains above our village this week!!

Thanks - have fun!

debinaustria · 09/09/2007 16:24

Just back from Legoland and it was great. We had 2 free tickets though and also 25% off the other 2 tickets so it was reasonable but otherwise I don't know if it's worth paying more than the other theme parks in the area.

Took forever to get there though due to roadworks round Munich - 9 hours instead of 3 and 5 hours back today!

Deb

Glad to be home now

Thread hijack ....where are you debinaustria (I'm in Wien)?

emkana · 09/09/2007 20:21

Keine Ursache!

debinaustria · 09/09/2007 21:40

I'm in Salzburgerland - a small ski village, Muehlbach am Hochkoenig

How long have you been in Vienna?

Deb

Where did you stay in the end?

Why are the Legoland hotels only one night? We are thinking of driving from here in one go and arriving late afternoon and stay in that night in park then having one full day in park, hotel that night and then a morning there and then driving to Wien (SDS) for one night. Do-able?

debinaustria · 09/09/2007 21:49

Well it took us 9 hours to get there from here due to the horrendous traffic round Munich.

I don't know why the Legoland hotels only do 1 night either. We were about 40 minutes away in an apartment , I'll pm you the details if you're interested.

Deb

9 hours?? Bloody hell.

Was hoping for 6 from here.

Apartment details def of interest! Thanks

debinaustria · 10/09/2007 06:25

www.fewo-beckel.de/

They are brand new apartments, priced for 3 occupancy, but beware they also charge extra for bedding and towels, 20? for the 4 of us. You can take your own though, the quilts and pillows are there, you just need to take pillow cases, sheets, quilt covers etc...

It is a tiny village, but there is a sandpit , swings outside, there are some obviously closer to Legoland but these were the cheapest!

Thanks for that Deb - will have a look. Spoke to friend at school this morning who went at Easter. They stayed in Salzburg on the way which we may do too.

lapsedrunner · 10/09/2007 10:25

debinaustria - we've been here 4 years now.

Glad I found this thread as also been thinking about Legoland as DS is 5 this week. I was actually considering going by train which seems quite long (about 7 hours with changes) but might well be the best option.
