Is There A U.S. Site / Equivalent to "Mumsnet"??

I discovered this site by accident and I am / feel absolutely fascinated, impressed and numerous other positive feelings & opinions of and on this site. I can understand why people in the U.K. ask *"Why look for an equivalent in the states when you can just use Mumsnet??"
Well, the thing is it can be hard to relate fully to another countries views on parenting and all the other topics that I have seen on this site. Also when giving or looking for advice on certain topics, especially when the law is involved, it really helps to speak to other parents who can identify with you and the laws or issues in your country or state, even.
That is why people ask about a U.S. version or 'equivalent'. I feel it would be an amazing idea for Mumsnet to start a "Momsnet" for the U.S. as we need something like this. They have state by state forums, but I would like a forum that has people from all over the states, not just the state I am in. I wanted to see HOW MANY OTHERS ARE OUT THERE WHO ALSO WOULD LOVE A VERSION OF THIS FORUM / SITE, FOR THE U.S. as I believe that there are quite a few people who feel this way!! THE MORE WHO ASK AND SPEAK-UP ABOUT IT, THE MORE OF AN IMPACT IT WILL MAKE AND MAYBE WE WILL SEE IT HAPPEN!! God Knows how DESPERATELY the women and females in the U.S. NEED ( NOT just want ) a site like this.
Furthermore, that way if someone in a certain state or area, needs info on help, resources etc. they will have a better chance getting it on a U.S. site. Yes, as I said there are sites for every state, but to be honest I'd much, much rather get my info / advice from someone on a site such as this, rather than a state site. Once again, TO ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE U.S. WHO WANT A SITE LIKE THIS AVAILABLE FOR THE STATES, SPEAK UP, COMMENT, GIVE A REASON AS TO WHY IT IS NECESSARY / BENEFICIAL TO HAVE A SITE FOR THE U.S. AS WELL AS THE U.K. PLEASE!!!! Wink Halo

As a Brit in the USA I would enjoy the contrast and compare element of this.

AlbertWinestein · 21/11/2019 02:14

I think there already are a million and one of them though.

I'm a Brit in the US and I would love this but it doesn't exist yet

THE BUMP has a similar forum

The Wedding Bee is pretty similar, but MUCH more American

Whilst it is marketed for weddings the forums and boards cover all sorts.

There are some but they are more regional eg DC Urban Moms, Urban Baby. These sites are known for being a bit snobby/judgey and aren't something you admit to posting on. Then there is babycenter and that is the opposite extreme, you don't want to admit to posting on there as they are not known for being the smartest bunch of posters. So maybe something in the middle could work.

@britinnyc I'm in NYC too. I agree with your local boards point - I'm all over the NYC mummy FB groups Grin.

Depends on your needs, I guess. For those starting out in parenthood they might need a US site as there’s no point looking here for advice on which car seat to buy, for example, if you can’t get any of the brands discussed.

I come here purely because it is British-based and I need my dose of British humour from time to time. I don’t need the parenting side of things. I just love to read threads about going to Tescos, watching BBC, eating beans on toast, and so on when I feel homesick.
