What sort of shoes do French kids wear in the hot weather?

Dd 15 is going to stay with a French family soon (Bordeaux) and needs new summer shoes. She is taking Vans type canvas lace up shoes. She has flip flops, but do French kids wear sandals? If so what sort?

Yes they do this sort of thing French teenagers aren't big on heels. They are very low key: trainers mostly.
