Looking for advice on medical insurance for Singapore

DH and DS (2yo) are foreigners, as am I, and we'll be moving to Singapore.

The range of options, trying to separate out citizens from foreigners, whether we need private or public, hospital or outpatient, is making me very confused. I'm getting quotes from SGD 700 to 6000 per annum - the latter is obviously way more than we can afford. I've looked at Prudential, AXA, Aviva, AIA and a couple others - waiting for some call backs. I tried GoBear comparison website but the quotes were very high.

DS also has a genetic condition that excludes one particular food - a bit like a food allergy, we don't know how severe it is unless he had a reaction, otherwise he lives a normal life. I don't know if this counts as a pre-existing medical condition.

Can anyone offer any advice, or recommendations, companies for plans to look at for good, broad, and extensive coverage?

Ours is with Cigna. I can't help with cost as it's paid for my whole family by work but it's very comprehensive and excellent.
Singapore has great health care but it is extortionate to self pay for anything, so I would get the most comprehensive cover you can afford even if you have to stretch a bit.

I was just coming to say dont use Cigna, they are the most inept, obstructive medical company we have ever had to deal with. The appear great until you actually need to use them, and cost our company a fortune for our cover. I have used them both overseas and in the UK.

Have also used AXA , who were very good when needed, a arm of BUPA as well when we had no dealings with at all.

But please for your own sanity not Cigna.
