Some friends are moving there to work for a couple of years. They have sensitive skin and are concerned about the washing powders/liquids available there.

Anyone with experience of brands, types in this area - Uganda in particular?

TIA

Expat, in my experience of Uganda you can get regular washing powders, like Ariel there, also there are SA supermarkets with SA brands. The Ariel-type products often come from the middle east. When we were living in Tanzania I took loads of washing powder in my container because it was vv expensive.

Thanks, cameroon!

They're going with VSO and worried about what they'd be able to find for powders.

Expat, glad to help when it comes to Africa I shouldn't think they would find non-bio stuff like we have here (there certainly wasn't any when we lived there 7 years ago and more recently in Cameroon neither French nor middle eastern non-bio brands) so they may want to take it with them if that is what they use. Its a great country I'm sure they will have fun.

The bloke's son-in-law is S. African. I let him know he might want to ask him about some S. African brands that might be good, too.

They're getting pretty excited about the move - almost finished all their jabs and medical and dental checks.
