Helsinki International School - any experience?

A move to Helsinki is potentially on the cards. DC (9 and 6) currently in a large international school which follows the English curriculum.

Interested in hearing from anyone who knows anything at all about the International School Helsinki, which looks like our only realistic option if we move there. I know it's an IB school, which we're comfortable with. But I have concerns that it could be too small (only 400 students from 3-18), particularly for our older DC as he moves into secondary (or the Middle Years Programme).

I've checked direct with the school and it looks like there are two classes per year, with 12 children in each class. So 24 in a year group. Trying to work out if this is too small - smaller friendship pool, potentially less competition / challenge in class, fewer extra curricular activities available through the school.

Would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about this school, particularly the Middle Years Programme.

Helsinki is too dark and cold to live in.
