School Advice USA

We are planning to move Boston this summer with a 9 and 11 year old, probably for 3 years. Company will pay for private school both there and for 2 years on return. We are trying to decide between British international school or a more local private school which seem better fun and more interesting. My preference is a US school however DH is concerned about transition back into UK system. Would appreciate advice or thoughts from anyone who has experienced any of this. Thanks

I would avoid switching your DC in and out of different education systems at secondary level if you intend them to take GCSEs and A-levels later on. If you are intending for them to do the IB there is less difficulty as DC switch into IB from multiple systems.

We were very casual about switching school systems the first time we did this, dc were 6. It was a nightmare moving back.
I have refused to do this again and dc are in a British international school.
This also gives them a nice link with UK as lots of the teachers and a few pupils are from the UK. There are a wide range of nationalities including US so plenty of mixing.
