Do you live in north eastern France? Where is nice to live in Lorraine?

We need to be commuting distance to Luxembourg, but wish to live in France because we would like ds to be educated in only 1 new language (we both speak English), and we really like the parts of france that we have been to, as well as the way of life. Any thoughts?

Don't know if there are many MNers in N-E France. I'm in the S-E and have little knowledge of that area, hence my silence until you bumped. I have a few preconceived and probably utterly wrong ideas about the region, so was hoping someone else more knowledgeable and positive would come along to advise you.

Maybe you could give a bit more info on what you're after: town/village/countryside? How far from Luxembourg? Commuting by car/train?

Have you been to the N-E often before? Do you have any ideas yourself about towns/places you like? That might give people a bit more to go on.
