Flying to visit friends in Sardinia.Need presents I can carry within my luggage allowance on easyjet that they would like.
Have had good suggestions of chutneys, jams and a london bus for the kids but I think these may be too heavy. They like music, cooking, photography and they have a girl of 7 and a boy of 5.Can anyone help?

When are you going RainingCats&Dogs? We're visiting German friends later in the summer so was watching your other thread with interest! We're taking the car, so not as restricted as you, tho as we've been friends with this family for years, we've given them most things and am struggling. Will probably go with chutneys, jams and English cheeses etc. Let me know when you're going and if I have any miraculous new ideas, I'll let you know.

Sorry busy week.
Going a week on Tuesday.
They are in Sardinia by the way hence the easyjet journey.
Have bought some light photograph (Ella Doran) plates from John Lewis which are in their kitchen colours and a scottish whistle so far!
He worked in Scotland for a while as an Italian teacher and they had part of their honeymoon there so scottish things are good.I've bought in the past scottish cookbooks/scottish scenery photography.May get some Arran Aromatics soaps etc.
Think food jars will definately be too heavy.I'm not sure if they want shortbread again - have picture in my mind of a cupboard full of shortbread that we anually bring them.

Maybe, given that you've done the Scotland theme in the past, you can stray away from that theme, which will broaden your options. Not that I have any particularly good ideas as we're going in the car so don't have to think about weight. What about some material placemats & napkins? I sent some to Germany one Christmas and they were still using them last time we visited (washed out and slightly stained, so I know they hadn't just got them out cos we were there!)
What about a doll dressed in Scottish dress for the little girl? Sounds a bit naff I know, but I used to love getting dolls in national dress when I was little. I think BBBee's tea suggestion is a good one, most of our foreign friends much prefer English tea to that they can buy abroad. Bottle of scotch from the airport which you can take on the plane with you?
Struggling now and still hoping to get some inspiration via this thread for our trip!
