Moving to Qatar

We are thinking of moving to Qatar for my DH work (healthcare); I have spent time in UAE when younger.

We will be moving with a toddler (and an older dog). Is anyone living there? Do you have any advice?

We've been here ages.
Like any place it has its pros and cons . We've been able to save and travel as well as give our young kids a very safe and sheltered sunny lifestyle.
The blockade and recent doubling of beverage prices has made us rethink. It's becoming quite expensive to enjoy ourselves as much as we have in the past.

@habibihabibi We are also considering a move - we have a three and a one year old...would you recommend any particular schools and or areas to live? Would you say there is enough to do as a family with young children?

I would like to know about schools, areas to live in, is the tax on beverages for alcoholic ones or just beverages?

We are also hoping that our child will have a safer, more free childhood than she would here (UK).

@Momzillatron yes we are.

My husband has been offered several jobs in Middle East countries so we are just trying to decide between them. I think Doha is my 1st choice at the moment.
