My DH has been offered a job in Guangzhou and we’re due to move out there later in the year. I’ve been reading around but not finding much useful information on what it’s like to live there (or, more generally, China) with a family.
I have a 3 year old DS and a 5 month DD. Because my DH will be working for a school we don’t have to worry about education for them as it’s provided but I’d really love to hear any experiences of what it’s like to live there from people with kids.
Anything you can’t get hold of that I should bring?
How do you find using VPNs for getting around the Great Firewall?
How is the air pollution on a day to day basis? I’m used to using filters but are they the “norm” in GZ?
We’ve lived in Dubai and Hong Kong so not total strangers to expat living and the sub tropical climate but I think this will be quite the culture shock for us!
