Dutch Schooling: International, Dutch or a combination?

Hi all, I wonder if someone had good/some advise about the Netherlands, as we are moving there in what at the moment feels like a permanent move.
I've taken a job in AMS, starting January 2019. I'll be commuting whilst my eldest son finishes Y3 in the UK. We were aiming to send him at least for a couple of years to an International School (Hilversum) and then move him to a bridge class in a Dutch Secondary.

The other option is do the International School only for a year or two and them move them to the Dutch system (after getting Dutch lessons and the like). I've heard some primaries also have bridge classes for non-Dutch speaking kids.

Has anybody done something like this?
How is the enrollment in the Dutch system (I live in London and you need to prep from birth for primaries!)
Is the transition from International School to Dutch something feasible? Has anybody done it?

I also have a 3yo which very likely will follow his brother or start primary @ Dutch schools directly.

BTW, I'm new to the forum, so apologies if the above sounds weird! I'm also a Dad, I hope that's OK :)
