Going rate for babysitting in the US?

Can anyone give us an idea of how much my DD (17) should charge for babysitting in Boston?

This was linked on our local Facebook page the other week and seemed quite accurate.

$15 an hour where I am in TX

queen's link came up with 16 dollars for us which is about what we pay.

Thanks, after much deliberation she offered to do it for $10 an hour but the parents said $15, which seems in line with what you are all saying. Much more lucrative than the U.K.!

LA and going rate for late teens is $12-17

We pay $15/hr for babysitting. We have high school helpers who are$10/hr but they are more like mothers helpers. I have special needs DC so don't leave them alone with the DC.
