Hi does anyone live in Oman? How is it for expat life?

Which schools are good? Particularly interested in AGS - newer I know but any reputation yet?

I would have a trailing husband - do people find work easily or is it a bit of a non starter? Thanks a lot for any info

Oh wow! I visited friends in Oman working for PDO and really liked it. I was offered a job there 2 years ago and it all fell through and i was heartbroken. We applied for a place for our kids at the British School which looked good.
I husband would have not worked. It would depend what your husband does? There should be some better forums for expats in oman.
Good luck! I'm very envious!

Thanks user, he's an engineer so there is general demand for his job but not sure about Oman as I've heard they've had quite a big drive to employ majority local Omanis. I don't think he would mind not working for a while but he'd want something eventually!

How old are the children?
I love it here - completely different to what most people think the ME is like. Safe, friendly, and very outdoors-y.

Is there anyone living in Oman now or recently that would be happy for me to drop them a PM with a couple of questions?
