Insuring laptop and camera in that weird interim period between countries

Hi there!

I'm moving to Stockholm from the UK in less than two weeks (AAAHH!) and I need help understanding how to insure my laptop (3k) and my camera equipment (6k+) in the period where I am neither living in the UK or properly registered in Stockholm with a personummer.

Does anyone know of good insurance for someone in my position? I have good insurance in the UK to cover these expensive items but because I will no longer be living here, it means that the '30 days overseas' coverage I have doesn't really apply anymore.

Please help-- thank you!

Interesting, when we made our move from the USA from the UK, we had no insurance. The only available insurance for the items we shipped was for total loss only.

Yep, it's similar for the items we are shipping. This stuff I will have on my person and I would like to insure it separately. For example, in the UK, my camera equipment is insured separately for when I am out and about for theft, loss, etc. It's very expensive and important to me/I make some money with my camera, so I'd like to make sure I'm covered until I can get insured in Sweden (might take a few weeks because we need to get a personummer!).

There is a gap in the market for a worldwide gadget insurance company, clearly... I'm willing to pay for this but nobody wants my money, clearly!
