Nijmegen The Netherlands...school advice!

So need advice from people who live in Nijmegen. We are moving very soon with a 5 year old. We were told that she needs to do a transition class for a year before entering a regular school. We don't want this. Help!

Why would you not want this? It s quite common and a way to accelerate language acquisition.
