Hi

Wondered if anyone from Brisbane area could give me any recommendations on Suburbs/areas to live and those to avoid. Looking at area halfway between Ipswich and CBD with good state high schools if anyone has any information.

TIA

Hi. I grew up in Brisbane. I haven't lived there since 2001 (but visit regularly).

The suburbs of Mt Ommaney, Jindalee, Westlake would work if you want to be halfway between Ipswich and the Brisbane CBD. Kids growing up in those areas would go to Kenmore State High or Corinda State High. It's convenient for Ipswich because you can hop straight onto the highway that leads to Ipswich. They are pretty surburban though. Fig Tree Pocket is a nicer leafy area and also Chapel Hill and Kenmore - all a bit closer to the Brisbane CBD, and so further from Ipswich.

None of these areas are particularly cosmopolitan or hip, but have big houses on big blocks, lots of swimming pools and all the usual amenities like public libraries, shopping centres and public pools, cafes etc.

That’s brilliant - thank you xxx
