Hi

Looking for feedback for Dhahran British School - my DC will be year 4 and 6.

Positives/negatives, what’s waiting list like and any other info.

Also any other options for British schools in that area? DC have done majority of their schooling in ME so used to Arabic etc!

DBGS and BISAK are the 2 best British schools in the area.
I have kids at one of them. Parents switch between the two depending on the ebb and flow of feeling.
All schools have waiting lists (if they are any good) but loads of people are leaving over the summer, so even if they think they are fill currently, spaces will likely appear over the summer.
Both schools are good, both get excellent GCSE results, both have issues that are just part of daily life in KSA.

Are you in khobar now?? Both schools are on reduced hours for Ramadan currently. Both schools will shut for Eid in 2 weeks. BISAK then go back for a couple of weeks. Likely to be admissions staff in from early August again, but emails are likely to go unanswered over the summer.

We’re in Qatar at the moment but a potential move later this year, due to the issues between our countries and paperwork I doubt it’ll be any sooner than 6 months!

We are anticipating a move to Alkhobar this month. I am looking for some feedback on the DBGS and BISAK schools as my son would be moving on to his A levels. He did his GCSE outside Saudi.

Appreciate any feedback/advice/suggestions on these schools.

We are planning to move to Dhahran and looking for a school place for our daughter in year 8.Both BSD And BISAK doesnot have any availability.What are the chances of places coming after April ?

April? Probably not high.
But there is a massive turnover, and I suspect they haven't reached the deadline for holding deposits yet, so dont actually know what places they will have in August.
Unless you are after a foundation place, at which point there will be a bit more of an issue.

We landed in Sept (a while ago). DH had been after spaces for a couple of months before that. Took the kids being in kingdom for 6 weeks, and we had DBGS - now BSD I think - places.
