Tanzania, Dar es salaam

Long shot but has anyone lived here? DH has been offered a two year contract here, his company will pay for international school for our DC who will be 3 and almost 6 when we would arrive.
How is it as a place to live? A difficult posting or easy enough if you know where to live/shop?
Grateful for any experiences or advice as not sure whether to bite on this one!

I've never been, but I'd love to - but the thing putting me off is the malaria risk. I'm not sure I would want to take young children to Tanzania for this reason.

The title of the thread is “Moving to Mwanza, Tanzania” and although it is very old, the original post is dated July 16th, 2013 (and at the time of writing this is four pages back from the most recent posting on this board) - there is some excellent advice about relocating to Tanzania in general.

The infrastructure may have improved since the last post in the thread was posted nearly four years ago, but from what I’ve read I would consider it a ‘hardship’ posting, so push for an extra allowance because of this!
